Postal authorities who inspected a parcel that smelled like marijuana, found instead about $30,000 in cash inside. That find started a probe that convicted six people on drug trafficking charges.

This week in a federal courtroom in Kansas City, Kansas, one of the suspects, a 54-year-old man from San Diego, California was sentenced to nearly four years in prison. U.S. Attorney Lanny Welch says Leon Livingston pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to possess and distribute more than 100-kilograms of marijuana.

Three other defendants have already been sentenced in the investigation, while two more await sentencing in December.
