Salina's own Ann Zimmerman was back in studio Friday with a 3-song set for listeners of KSAL's Morning News. The long time area favorite debuted a new song, "They Got It Right," a soulful tribute to her parents love and marriage.

The singer/songwriter confessed to finishing the piece just the night before. "This is a dangerous sort of song," she said. "Which means I could come around tomorrow and say - no that's not how it should be at all."

Zimmerman explained that her mother died over a year ago, and since then she has been working to finish a song that portrays her mother in some small way. Ann grew up loving music, in part because of her mother who played autoharp while the family sang along.

Practicing law in Salina keeps Zimmerman busy during her days while she enjoys living on a horse-boarding farm with her husband. She is also very active in the community, providing songwriting workshops to area students.

Ann has recorded three original CD's: "Canned Goods," "Love and Weather" and her latest, "Blue Wild Indigo" all are available on line at www.annzimmerman.com

Multiple area musicians, groups, and bands are right now being booked to sit in the studio as the Friday morning "KSAL House Band." If you know of anyone interested you can contact Jeff Garretson by calling him at 785-823-1111 or by e-mailing him at jeff.garretson@morris.com.
