A former parts manager for a Salina truck center pleads guilty to stealing from the company.

According to U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom's Office, 35-year-old Jamie D. Wood pleaded guilty to one count of mail fraud.

In his plea, he admitted that while he was a parts manager for Kansas Truck Center in Salina, he created false invoices causing the company to mail checks totaling more than $500,000 to a fictitious vender in Kansas. The false invoices were made to show that KTC purchased truck parts from a friend of Wood's, even though the company had received no goods or services from the friend.

Sentencing is set for Sept. 17.

Wood faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison and a fine up to $250,000.

People need to realize and understand it's not "if" you get caught, but rather WHEN.
