Da do you think there needs to be more police presence in that area. Been a couple of weeks and the dummies put a spool of wire on the roof of a car at great plains now this. Maybe the chief needs to spend less time at the country club.

Great Plains is on the opposite side of town. The cops can't be watching every business every minute of the day-or night. An alarm system and a big barking dog could help.

Seems to me the SPD are spending most of there time driving up and down the main roads. But you rarely see them drive around the neighborhood roads.

True enough, law enforcement cannot be everywhere all the time, however, I'm curious to know WHY they spend more time on traffic citations and minimal problems and not much time trying to solve all the thefts/burglaries/break-ins etc... I would think by now the Chief and Sheriff would have sat down and discussed what can be done to address this problem that has become so prevalent. I know they are separate entities, but working together for the greater good of our community would not be a bad thing. These criminals are not worried about getting caught, so there is no reason for them to stop. And, as I always say, EVERYONE needs to be pro-active in securing their own valuables, be sure your stuff is under lock and key, vehicles are locked, valuables are where they will be safe. Don't make yourselves an easy target, and, knowing who your friends are coming in and out of your house will help, do not have parties that include strangers you do not know.

Yes they are not close together my mistake but these types of places are more prone to getting hit for items these thieves can get rid of easy. The tickets are one thing and the police sure had 4 or more cars out there on magnolia and ohio at one time which the chief of police deemed more important evidently. Of coarse he probably feels there is not a increase in crime in the city. Maybe he needs to see how many unsolved crimes he has on the books. People need to start arming themselves and when these thieves come a calling pile up their lifeless bodies for the cops to remove.
