Praeger stands out among Kansas Republicans for not condemning the 2010 law

Kansas Insurance Commissioner Sandy Praeger is at odds with Gov. Sam Brownback and other fellow Kansas Republicans over what they deride as "Obamacare."

She's trying to preserve a role for the state in a federally mandated online health insurance market. But the conflict runs deeper than a disagreement over tactics in responding to the health care overhaul championed by Democratic

President Barack Obama.

Praeger stands out among Kansas Republicans for not condemning the 2010 law.

Brownback wants to wait on making decisions about an online health insurance market until after the presidential election. But after the U.S. Supreme Court upheld the law last week, Praeger praised it as step toward ensuring access to health care for all Americans.

Within the Kansas GOP, she often appears to be a faction of one.

They ought to investigate her office especially the investigators she has working for her. Nobody in that office is for the consumer.

when did you realize this Iamgonna? This is one of the corrupt offices in the state. They got a investigator that brings up false charges against anyone who has a legit complain against one of the insurance companies that pays them under the counter. They are not here to protect any consumer just their bank accounts.

I feel it is notable that the prior insurance commissioner, Kathleen Sebelius, and the present commissioner, Sandy Praeger, one a Democrat and one a Republican, both see the need for a major change in how healthcare is administered. Perhaps we need to listen to them rather than the politicians.

To the first two post. Both of you are complete and utter idiots. Since you disagree with her, she is corrupt and should be investigated. All you guys ever post on here is putrid delusional crap.

salina senior before you start calling names why not look into some of the things they have pulled in the past and maybe contact a few people that were hurt by them then make your comments. Or are you to old to do that?

First of all, good for you, Sandy Praeger! There's at least one person in state government willing to take a look at the law and keep our options open. Back to the first 2 posters, I'd be willing to bet you don't have any real examples . . . . it's too easy to just throw out accusations that don't have any basis.

Enforcer, I don't think you understand. I'm asking for an example of a person who was prosecuted by the Insurance Commissioner's office who turned out to be innocent.
