Falcons Look to Advance, Hawks Fly to Pool Play Title

The Salina Falcons Senior American Legion baseball team is looking to advance to the semifinals of the Kansas Grand Slam. The Falcons are 2-1 in pool play in the 19-and-under division after a 9-1 loss to Millard North, Nebraska, and an 11-3 win over the Kansas Titans yesterday. The Falcons wrap up pool play tonight against the Kansas Rattlers. First pitch is scheduled for 8:15pm at Matson Field.

The Salina Hawks Junior American Legion baseball team claimed its pool-play championship yesterday in the 17-and-under division, knocking off Hays 9-2 and the Topeka Scrappers 3-0. The Hawks finished pool play unbeaten, and have the day off ahead of tomorrow's semifinals.

The Salina Eagles Junior American Legion baseball team is 1-2 in pool play after falling to the Topeka Golden Giants 9-1, but then knocked off Finney County 16-5.

The Kansas Grand Slam wraps up Tuesday.
