(New York, NY) -- Royals designated hitter Billy Butler is the team's lone All-Star representative. It's Butler's first selection to the Midsummer Classic.

In the American League, Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton received more than 11-million votes to shatter the previous record in fan balloting. Giants catcher Buster Posey was the top vote-getter in the National League.

Royals closer Jonathan Broxton has a chance to make the roster. Broxton is one of five pitchers in the Final Vote for the American League. The others are Yu Darvish of the Rangers, Ernesto Frieri of the Angels, Jason Hammel of Orioles and Jake Peavy of the White Sox. Those results will be announced Thursday. The AL will face the National League on July 10th from Kauffman Stadium.
