Falcons, Hawks Advance to Semis at Kansas Grand Slam

The Salina Falcons Senior American Legion and the Salina Hawks Junior American Legion baseball teams will play in their respective semifinals today at the Kansas Grand Slam Tournament at Dean Evans Stadium and James Matson Field.
The Falcons lost to the Kansas Rattlers to finish 2-2 in pool play in the 19-and-under division, but won a tiebreaker against two other teams to advance to today's semifinal against Hutchinson at 12:15 at James Matson Field. The other semifinal has Columbus, Nebraska taking on Millard North, Nebraska. The championship game is scheduled for 3 o'clock at Dean Evans Stadium.
The Salina Hawks had the day off on Monday, and will face Manhattan Manko in the semifinals of the 17-and-under division at 10 o'clock at Dean Evans Stadium. The other semifinal has the Hays facing the Topeka. The championship game is slated for 2:30 at Matson Field.
The Salina Eagles Junior American Legion ended their tournament run yesterday with a 13-4 loss to Hays. The Eagles finished 1-3 in pool play in the 17-and-under division.
