State Parks Restrict Fireworks
Associated Press - Tue 11:54 AM 07/03/2012
Dry conditions across Kansas are prompting state officials to curb use of fireworks at state parks and lake for the July 4 holiday.
The Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism said Tuesday that only two of the state's 26 state parks will allow
personal fireworks to be used on the holiday. Visitors may use them in restricted areas of Perry State Park and at Elk City State Park.
Professional fireworks displays have been canceled at Cedar Bluff, Lovewell, Kanopolis, Prairie Dog and Wilson state parks. Professional displays are still scheduled near Milford State Park, Pomona State Park and Tuttle Creek State Park.
Park officials are also advising visitors to heed weather advisories to avoid dangerous health conditions brought on by the excessive heat.

There is trouble in Salina and Saline County. We can no longer trust our elected officials or the people they appoint to positions. Due to personal favors to various people and clubs they have but the citizens of our area in jepordy. Further 9000 people or more are inconvienced everyday with Magnolia then all of a sudden the road is opened for Skyfire under the guise to be able to move more traffic.

The people need to have names published of who made this decision. We have been inconvenience for many months now while a smelting crew takes their time working on that road. Evidently not having a full crew allowed them to low ball their bid at the expense of 9000 plus people a day. But to open this up because of Skyfire is a bunch of BS. This goes right in hand with how the leaders ignored putting a ban in place. It's time the taxpayers of our area be heard and changes made.
