Records have been sealed in the case against a Topeka man charged with first-degree murder and kidnapping in the death of an 18-year-old woman.

The Topeka Capital-Journal reported that a Shawnee County judge agreed Friday to close to the public all pretrial motions, responses and replies in the case of 20-year-old Dustin J. Leftwich.

His newly appointed defense attorney made the request.

Leftwich is accused of hitting recent Seaman High School graduate Brenna Morgart with a vehicle. Her body was found May 25 in a field about three miles away.

Leftwich is also charged with aggravated assault with a vehicle against an unidentified 14-year-old in 2011. Details of that case have not been released.

Leftwich was on probation for an earlier sexual assault conviction when he was arrested in Mogart's killing

I think the system failed terribly with this bum!! How sad for the victims/families involved!! I would say the only way to right this wrong is to expedite him right to death row and get that needle in his arm!! Although letting him be "Bubbas" play toy for a few weeks would be good to!!
