Crews will be cleaning up debris on Interstate 70 in Geary County after a semitrailer truck exploded and burned when it clipped a truck painting lines on the interstate.

Geary County Undersheriff Tony Wolf says the truck struck a line-painting truck Tuesday east of Junction City. The truck was operated by a contract crew for the state transportation department.

Wolf says the tractor trailer driver tried to miss the other truck but clipped it, causing the semitrailer's fuel tank to

rupture.

The driver was able to get his 7-year-old daughter out of the truck before it exploded. No injuries were reported.

Traffic was reduced to one lane in both directions for several hours.

Authorities decided to let the wreckage cool overnight before removing the debris on Wednesday.

That poor little girl, I suspect she was terrified by this. I'm glad everyone was ok. You would think with your 7yr old daughter in the truck you would be paying more attention to what you are doing. This could have been a horrible tragedy!!!
