Volunteers Ready For Back To School Fair
KSAL Staff - Sun 09:12 AM 07/29/2012
Volunteers again this year are helping to make sure that Saline County kids will be well-prepared when they head back to school.
The annual Back to School Fair is scheduled for Friday, August 3rd from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lakewood Middle School.
Through the support of community sponsors, this event will provide an opportunity to distribute free backpacks containing basic school supplies to 1,850 income-eligible Saline County K-12 students, free school physicals, dental screens, and depression screenings along with children's activities and more.
To qualify for the free basic school supplies, your child must live in Saline County, must be a K-12 student in the 2012-2013 school year, and must qualify for free or reduced school lunches.
Registration for the free school supplies is Monday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, located on the corner of 9th and Crawford.
Over 150 volunteers, donating over 2,200 hours, help make the Back to School Fair possible.
Information about the event is available at enrollment.
