Salina Man Arrested For Arson

After pouring lighter fluid on the grass and plywood board, Howey lit the grass
A Salina man was arrested and charged with arson.
At 6:15 p.m. on Monday, July 30 the Salina Police Department was contacted and responded to a fire in the backyard at 428 Baker. Steven Brown, 52 of 701 W. ASh, is the owner of the property.
The Salina Fire Department put out the grass fire and a 4'x20" plywood board attachted to the basement window that had caught fire.
Total damage is listed at $100.
Salina Police spoke with and arrested Jason Howey, 29 of 426 Baker. Howey told police that he poured lighter fluid on the board and grass and then lit the grass on fire.
Howey was charged with one count of arson.
