Struggle Ensues After Guest Steals Jewelry And Other Items

An arrest is made after struggle. 18 year old Brayden Rodger of Salina was visiting Kimberly Erickson of 2013 E. Gray Rd. Apartment A at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, August 1 when 52 year old Steven Renken of the same address called the Saline County Sheriff's Office to report a subject stealing.
According to the Sheriff's department, Renken came upstairs to see Erickson struggling with Rodger. Erickson had caught Rodger going through her jewlery box. She then challenged him and began struggling with him in order to get her jewelry back.
The two went through the back door during their struggle. Rodger punched then slapped Erickson in the face before getting on his moped and leaving the residence. Deputies later found Rodger at Chapel Ridge in Salina and arrested him. He was chraged with one count of aggravated robbery, and two counts of theft of property or services.
Items stolen include costume jewelry, a ladies Bovola watch, a bottle of generic Xanax pills, a Toshiba laptop, 20 DVDs, and six music CDs. Most of the items were recovered at the home. Total loss is listed at $1,719.
