Fired Juvenile Official Gets State Pension
Associated Press - Fri 11:51 AM 08/03/2012
A former official with the state's Juvenile Justice Authority who was fired in March is receiving a state pension, even though he didn't work for the state for the required 10 years.
Dennis Casarona, former deputy commissioner of the authority, was fired in March over allegations of mismanagement and abuse at the authority's facility in Topeka.
The Topeka Capital-Journal reports Casarona used an obscure interpretation of the Kansas Public Employees Retirement System to become eligible for a pension, even though he had not worked for the state for 10 years.
An attorney for the Kansas Department of Administration says Casarona had no legal basis for his interpretation of the KPERS' rules. Counsel A.J. Kotich says the issue should be referred to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation and Attorney General.

This is a bunch of bull, I agree. I wonder how much he is robbing KPERS for each month and how much lump sum payment did got up front? I worked fir a municipality for nearly 19 years and had 3 years of military service but my pension is minimal compared to what the executive/admin employees get. This guy needs to be tried for fraud, deception, theft and embezzlement.

Well Saline county commissioners are paying wife abuser Joe Koch his salary. This scum bag did not do his job to begin with now it is evident the reason he was not is because he was abusing his wife. But yet these A-HOLE commissioners are paying him. Send him to jail and the commissioners off of the commission. I hear one of the commissioners is trying to fix the election. How about that for coffee conversation talk?

Word at the cafe has it old Joe was involved somehow with the fire at his house. Evidently the wife thing was going on at that time. Makes a person wonder.
