A Kansas legislator has apologized to an opponent in a Republican primary for an attack ad run by a political action committee.
The Manhattan Mercury reports the radio spot criticized Bob Reader for home-schooling his children.
Reader is one of two Republicans challenging Senator Roger Reitz in Tuesday's primary in the Manhattan area.
Reitz said Friday he neither produced nor approved of the message aired by a group called the Kansas Jobs Political Action Committee. He said he was deeply disappointed to hear it on the radio and believes it crossed the line.
Reader issued his own statement thanking Reitz for his apology. He has said he would advocate for school choice if elected, but is also committed to an excellent public education system.

Meet the Senate Imposters Check their voting record. Special educational newspapers for voters reveal the real voting records of many elected officials in Topeka. The Chief Progressives in the Kansas Senate are Morris, Vratil, Emler and every key committee chairperson This syndicate can and does ensure that any conservative legislation, which conflicts with or fails to advance the progressive agenda never moves from its assigned committee. The record clearly indicates that only those Senators, who are committed to the progressive alliance, find their way to these all-important seats of power. If you think the progressives are not serious about retaining the services of these phony Republicans then you should read the letter at the end of this article sent by the KNEA to its members in Kansas. You can bet this effort will play out across the state. http://www.ks912state.org/wp-content/uploads/Reitz_Newspaper2.pdf
