The Defense Department reports that 25-year-old 1st Lieutenant Todd Lambka of Fraser, Michigan, north of Detroit, died Wednesday when an improvised explosive device detonated in Paktika province.

Private first-class Jesus Lopez of San Bernardino, California also was killed in the blast. Lopez was 22.

Lambka and Lopez were assigned to the 1st Battalion, 28th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division in Fort Riley, Kansas.

Condolences to the families of the fallen soldiers. It's time to get the hell out of Iraq and Afghanistan.
