Conservatives Win Big In Kansas

AP News - Wed 04:55 AM 08/08/2012

Conservative Republicans who've been working to push GOP moderates out of state legislatures in a large section of the country have scored big victories in Kansas.

After Tuesday's primary election, a Kansas Senate that has been an obstacle to conservative fiscal and social policy changes is likely to have a solid majority on the right next year.

Voters in GOP races ousted seven incumbent moderate senators. An eighth, Senate President Steve Morris, a moderate Hugoton Republican, trailed his conservative opponent, likely marking the end of Morris' 20-year career as a legislator.

Some GOP voters transferred their ongoing frustration with Democratic President Barack Obama and the federal health care law he championed to moderate GOP state senators. Some wanted the Senate to be more in line with Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback.

It amazes me that these senators and reps want to criticize the new healthcare law and want it repealed, yet these yahoos have been reaping the benefits of it forEVER. They serve a few years and get it for life...we work forever and fight for life to get some of it.....And they American people are going to vote for them???? WTF???

Thanks to all who aided in this effort; first those that prayed, financial and feet on the ground, manning the phones for Kansans For Liberty, and passing on information to contacts lists. Special thanks to Larry Halloran who produced the papers we hit the streets with a month ago informing voters that R doesn't always mean Conserevative OR Principled. Larry drove the wheels off that Ford truck delivering those to the far corners of Kansas and was an inspiration to me at times when I was ready to throw in the towel. Also thanks to Craig Gable for his organizational skills and the resources he brought to the table in fund raising and out-of-pocket. Kansas owes a lot to these two. We had help delivering here in Salina from Rich Fry November Patriots and Sandy, Ron, and Larry from South Central KS 912. Our sweat and toils paid off... goodbye Pete. Maybe those who were skeptical or did not chip in will realize the tenacity of the RINO Hunter in 2 years and get off their duff! Ya'll missed out this time!
