Wichita Students Skip Out On $213 IHOP Tab
Associated Press - Fri 07:31 AM 08/17/2012
An apparent prank by some Wichita high school students has a restaurant owner apologizing for the resulting negative publicity.
About 100 Wichita North High School seniors descended on an IHOP around 5 a.m. Tuesday, following a traditional campout at the school.
A police report shows that 22 of the students left without paying their bills. Wichita North principal Sherman Padgett calls that a "boneheaded" act and says arrangements are being made for the seniors to pay the $213 tab plus a 20 percent tip.
The IHOP's owner, Ali Issa, says he's embarrassed about the situation and never meant to make the school look bad. I
ssa says he wants to assure everyone, including the students, that they're welcome back at the restaurant.

People run out on a ticket and the PROPRIETOR is apologizing? Here was a great "teachable moment" and what was taught? Embarrassing the school is something to be sorry for? The school did not send these kids there. It wasn't on school property, and not during school hours. It had NOTHING to do with the school other than the fact that all of the students happened to attend there. SMH! (Shaking My Head)

This guys business must be in the toilet if he is apologizing for these students stealing from him. Put all 22 of them in with Bubba and let them learn a lesson the hard way.

The 22 students who did not pay should be apologizing the the owner, not the other way around. Good for the principal for making the kids pay their bill. I think the 22 should do some community service also. Maybe list their names in the newspaper to embarrass them!

What this site doesn't say is that more than the 22 seniors DID go to apologize Thursday evening.AND they gave back the money
