The Saline County Sheriff’s Department received a report on July 23rd of an ATV and other property stolen from a shed on the property of Loretta McCormick on Geissler Road in the Bavaria area. This was the first of several reports of stolen property in the Bavaria, Brookville area in late July and early August.
Thursday a sheriff’s deputy was on patrol in Brookville and spotted a teenager riding one of the vehicles reported stolen. Arrested was 17-year old Carl Kissick, of 110 3rd. Street, Brookville.
All the property reported stolen has been recovered as well as a shotgun that had not been reported stolen.
Anyone from that area who is missing a shotgun should contact the Saline County Sheriff’s Office.

Carl is not the brightest bulb in the box but he had a couple of little helpers, hopefully they won't be allowed to scurry away.

Looks like another unsolved crime for the sheriff's office. The sheriff is lucky he did not have to run for re-election on his record.

justadude if you have information provide it to the Sheriff's Office and Carl won't be the only one charged. If you have what you indicate and provide it the little helpers won't scurry away.

Way to go to the Sheriff Deputies that were alert to this kid!! I'm happy he was caught and some people got there things back!! This is wonderful news, with the recent thefts going on around our community, I love that someone is finally behind bars and going to be held accountable!! This is a start, I know there are MANY other outstanding thefts/burglaries to solve, especially inside the city which would be the responsibility of the Salina PD!! JustaDude, please, if you know who his little helpers were, turn them in!! If community involvement is what it will take to start solving some of these issues, let's do it!! Time to take our community back from these thieves!!
