St. Francis officials say the current facility is no longer sufficient and would be too expensive to rehab.
A Salina area social services group is planning to build a new $5 million facility.
St. Francis Community Services is planning to replace the main building on its campus west of Salina. Groundbreaking on the new facility is scheduled for the fall of 2013.
