Labor Day Weekend Gas Prices Spiking
Metro Source News - Fri 08:06 AM 08/31/2012
In central Kansas the average price for a gallon of unleaded gasoline is $3.65 a gallon as of Friday morning.
Isaac is part of a perfect storm that's jacking up gas prices for the Labor Day weekend.
Prices that were inching up before the storm barreled in off the Gulf this week hit a national average of almost $3.83 a gallon Thursday. According to AAA, those prices could easily go higher as Americans head out for the last long weekend of the summer.
Drivers in the southeastern U.S. aren't the only ones seeing prices jump. Refineries are beginning the annual switch from summer to winter fuel blends. That conversion process slows production and raises prices throughout the country.

I agree with who cares-everything keeps going up except our wages------there is no reason for gas spikes on holidays----there no reason for all these excessive high gas prices------there's gas and oil out there - quit the politics and help the common blue collar workers for once-----

Casey's is the prime motivator in salina they could not wait to jump the price. Naturally the gas stored in the tanks was purchased at a lesser cost so look at how much more they are ripping us off.

Of course its gettig higher. The gasoline big shots all know when people are going to use the most gas. Holidays, vacations, 3 day weekends. The gas companies know this and gas prices all ways go up cause they know people will use more so they get more money. When people dont use as much gas thats when the companies discount the price they would hate to have to stock pile it.

Gas prices started spiking as soon as Obama took office and won't go down until Romney takes over in January. Drill in ANWR!

Casey's doesn't set the price...everyone else in the business is just as "guilty". There's only one thing they understand....no sales. Best way to complain is to stay home...don't buy gas, don't buy anything you don't need...and tell them why. Sooner or later...they'll get it!

Harry that might work in a town of a 100 people. Casey's is always the first ones to raise the price. There have been a few times when others did not and they had to lower there's back down. If all the prices are the same maybe we need to support the independent stations and let the big boys hang for awhile then they may have to take a different look how they do things.
