The most storied rivalry in the KCAC celebrates its' 100th football game on Saturday.
Coyotes' frontman Dave Dallas stopped into the KSAL Morning News on Wednesday - with a look at a classic college football rivalry.
"Home or away it's a big game for everybody," he said.
From the opening coin toss to the final gun - Kansas Wesleyan and Bethany College's alum and players alike will be soaking in the 100th meeting between the two schools on the football field.
The rivalry dates back to November 13, 1893 when KW shut out the Swedes 38-0.
Dallas tells KSAL News that it's a week that requires extra focus from the staff. "As a coach you try to keep it in perspective. If you concentrate too much on the rivalry you're not going to get anything accomplished on the field."
Bethany has dominated the series with a 55-39-5 mark.
The last time the Coyotes stepped onto the turf at Anderson Stadium - Dallas's crew lit up the scoreboard in the 2010 matchup with a 66-49 win.
Saturday, September 22nd a special joint KW-Bethany tailgate party gets underway at 5:30pm on the practice field next to Anderson Stadium in Lindsborg. Coyotes take on the Swedes at 7pm.
