Unbelievable things like this just does not happen in Salina and if the police do not catch the people then the taxpayers need to get on the commissioners and city manager for changes in leadership in the police department.

This is one of the many reasons I am getting my Concealed Carry permit. Salina is getting to be a high crime rate city. I must agree that Chief Hill needs to rearrange his priorities.

About Salina crime rates With a crime rate of 52 per one thousand residents, Salina has one of the highest crime rates in America compared to all communities of all sizes - from the smallest towns to the very largest cities. One's chance of becoming a victim of either violent or property crime here is one in 19. Within Kansas, more than 95% of the communities have a lower crime rate than Salina. Importantly, when you compare Salina to other communities of similar population, then Salina crime rate (violent and property crimes combined) is quite a bit higher than average. Regardless of how Salina does relative to all communities in America of all sizes, when NeighborhoodScout compared it to communities of similar population size, its crime rate per thousand residents stands out as higher than most. http://www.neighborhoodscout.com/ks/salina/crime/#description
