High School Sports: Central Volleyball Sweeps in Hutch

In volleyball, Salina Central sweeps its way to a pair of wins in Hutchinson, knocking off the Salthawks 25-21, 25-14 and Salina South 25-19, 25-18. Central is now 22-8 and 7-2 in AVCTL Division I. Salina South also lost to Hutchinson 25-19, 25-21. The Cougars are 6-22 and 1-7 in AVCTL Division I.

Sacred Heart takes a pair of matches from Republic County, winning 25-15, 21-25, 25-19 and 25-15, 25-18. The Knights are 18-8 and 8-2 in the NCAA.

Ell-Saline drops just their third match of the season, falling to Hutchinson Trinity 25-19, 25-21. The Cardinals knocked off Bennington 24-26, 25-15 and 25-10 to go 1-1 on the day. The Cardinals are 22-3.

In boys soccer, Salina South fell short against Derby, losing 2-0. The Cougars drop to 4-7-1 and 0-4 in AVCTL Division I.

Salina Central picks up an 8-2 road win over Hutchinson. Jesse Lennon scored four goals in the match, and had a hat-trick in the first half. The Mustangs are 10-2 on the year and 5-0 in AVCTL Division I.
