VIDEO: Salina Turns Proudly Pink

Downtown Salina turned pink Thursday evening.

As part of Salina Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a portion of Santa Fe was adorned with pink ribbons, painted in the street and hung on poles.

The event Thursday evening helped kick off an entire month of events dedicated to helping raise awareness about breast cancer. Organizers say that Salina Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a series of collaborative events during the month of October dedicated to education, fund raising and fun.

Part of the fun Thursday evening was a very unique race through downtown, a Heel-A-Thon in which runners ran in high heels.
