A federal judge has dismissed an age discrimination lawsuit filed against the University of Kansas.

The Lawrence Journal-World reports that U.S. District Court Judge Kathryn Vratil dismissed the lawsuit Thursday.

Cynthia M. Cook had been seeking more than $100,000 in damages in the lawsuit filed in 2011. The lawsuit said Cook, who was born in 1957 and hired in 1980 as a secretary, was laid off in 2009.

Cook contended that she was passed over for other positions that were filled by younger, less-qualified people.

Another victim because of age. The gays want special ordinances but time after time the aged should be protected against these abuses.
