High School Sports: Mustangs Qualify for State Golf

Salina Central's Alissa Kim shot an 80 and won the individual title at yesterday's Class 5A girls golf regional at Salina Municipal Golf Course. The Mustangs qualified their team for state, with a score of 387, one behind Newton. Hays was third. Taylor Knoth finished third for the Mustangs with an 89. Salina South will be represented at state by Caitlin Corn, who shot a 98, finishing 11th overall but in the top five individuals from non-qualifying teams.

Today, volleyball and soccer take center stage. In volleyball, Ell-Saline hosts a triangular at 4. At 5 o'clock, Salina Central visits Newton, Salina South hosts Campus and Derby, and Southeast of Saline entertains Ellsworth.

In boys soccer, Salina Central travels to Andover for a 6 o'clock kickoff, while Salina South hosts Newton for a 6:15 match.
