Burglars Take Paint Sprayer

Jeff Garretson - Tue 11:27 AM 10/16/2012

Painting tools are stolen from a Salina residence.

Prime Properties of Kansas contacted police after someone entered a rental property in the 200 block of S. 4th, and stole numerous items.

Police say an electric paint sprayer worth $1,500, a bucket of hand tools and plumbing supplies were taken sometime between 5pm on Friday and 8am Monday morning.

Total loss is listed at $1,822.

Once again a crime is committed but crime is down in Salina. Wake up commissioners and get rid of the chief.

Replacing the chief will more than likely get someone in that position with the energy to get tough on crime. This chief is living in the land of oz. Today alone there's a couple of crime stories on here but there was another home burgery, a car stolen and a moped stolen from kwu. Crime is out of control here but he goes before the commissioners and says crime is down. Salina needs a go better for chief who will not be in denial.

We need a new approach from KSAL. All they do is copy these petty little stories form the police news desk and almost never reprot the whole story or follow up to give us the whole story. I mean who really gives a damn that someone stole a paint sprayer?

I am sure it depends on your status on whose side you are on. These petty stories as you call them are not petty to the victim who had his or her paint sprayer stolen and house broke into but since we know who you are it is easy to see why you make comments like this.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Don't start on me with that petty crap you like to play with other people. If you knew who I was you would think twice. I could care less what you think or what kind of stupid games you get off on playing with whoever.

We do need change in our police department, starting at the top position (Chief) then going down through the officers that are simply not working these crimes like they should be instead of just sitting around in cars. They come, they take a report, the report vanishes into the archives of all the other stolen items reports, never to be seen or heard of again!! Unless--wonder of wonders, they should stumble onto one of the thieves, usually by accident!! Now, I do want to add, I have had the pleasure of meeting some officers recently that were wonderful, caring people. They too seemed frustrated by the problems in our community, they are only allowed to do what the are told, take the report and move on!! Simple truth is we DO NEED fresh, new leadership in the department, Mr. Hill has road on the gravy train long enough!!

Chuckie's back!! Once again, there are certain individuals whom happen to have a RAP sheet and are fascinated with the chief! Stop being angry over your doings and trying to take it out on law enforcement. I don't see you putting your life, not that it is of any worth, on the line to protect John Q Public.

welcome back granny. You are absolutly right and what makes me mad is the commissioners brought the lies about crime being down. Anyone that has lived here during those years has definately seen the rise in crime.
