Updated 10:50am
Salina Police are searching for a known suspect in an overnight shooting.
According to Lt. Scott Siemsen, two people where hit by a single bullet, fired outside a home at 314 S. Ohio at around 3:30am Monday.
Siemsen tells KSAL News that officers are looking for 22-year-old Armani Ramos of Salina, "He is at large and should be considered armed and dangerous," he said.
Police say that Ramos, another man and a woman showed up at the residence on S. Ohio early this morning and an argument ensued with some of the occupants inside.
That confrontation spilled outside in front of the home and escalated when Ramos allegedly pulled out a handgun and fired a single shot. The bullet went through the arm of a female in her twenties who had come from inside the house.
The bullet also struck the leg of an unidentified man who was with Ramos. Both the man and woman were treated at Salina Regional Health Center.
Police say Ramos fled the scene on foot. The house on S. Ohio had seven occupants inside at the time of the incident, including three children.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Salina Police. Call Crimestoppers at 825-TIPS, text SATIPS to CRIMES (274637), or visit Salina Police Department www.pd.salina.org and follow the Crimestoppers link to submit a web tip.

Join the club there are a bunch of us that feel the same way but our chief of police has the gall to go before the commissioners and say crime is down. Like everyone else has said time and again time to start calling each commissioner and requesting something be done and replacing the chief with a more qualified person.

funny how you guys think its the chief of police! You should be worried about where your kids are at this moment.. its not the chief that is shooting! its the gangsters and the kids who dont have parents to set them on the right track. Just becuase he says a comment that my or may not be true its his fault that their are shootings? Get real...

The Current Chief needs to GO! An officer is shoot in the face and he said no more than 50 words to the press, then he crawled under his desk to never be heard from again. But given the current commissioners they don't have the spines to go after Moby d@#$ in a row boat and bring the tarter sauce with them.

Sorry my "I agree with you" was meant for sick of hearing gun shots. I couldn't even imagine doing chief of police job.......the gangster children of salina come from no care of that kid. I won't blame the parents everytime, some kids are just born to walk the wrong path and it turns out to be everyones problem after that. I've known good people who had bad kids, and bad people who had good kids. Hard to say

The fact is he is not doing the job he was hired for. An it is not all bad kids. Crime has got to be met on head first to begin with if anything is going to be accomplished.

exactly what do you think the chief of police can do? all i hear is blaming him not any answers i would bet a million dollars if you took his place you couldn't do a damn thing different. I live by sunset as a matter of fact and yes its a bad neighborhood sometimes, but what can be done? NOTHING its the people of this town that lets it get bad not the cops or the chief or the judges or lawyers or whoever else you want to blame.. it starts with you and your life and how you live it.

I counted 5 or 6 gun shoots in the last 3 weeks so yeah about twice a week and its getting old but they have gotten a few of the shooters just dumb people doing dumb things and a few of them have been grown a$$ people not kids/teens. But i moved from cali 10 years ago to get away from all that yet its not as bad as cali from a far but im starting to feel more at home with all these gun shoots lately and i have kids now unlike when i was n cali and i would never rise my kids there so im hoping this stops soon because this use to be a good place to rise kids I've always said im happy i had kids here and not where im from not blaming the chief or police if it could be stop ahead of time we wouldn't be talking about this right now

I agree that I am tired of hearing about the gun shots being fired in town. But for awhile the crime rate had gone down for ahile and obviously when he finally said it, they went up again. You cant blame the police cheif, there is only so much that he can do. Thats part of life just like how during the summer the rates go up because kids arent in school.

I'm tired of reading comments full of run-on sentances, misspelled words and poor grammar. If you are going to write hateful comments, at least try to put that elementary education to use and write a coherent sentance.

A good chief of police would look at where all the problems are say sunset park and saturate that area. There are known hot spots in Salina well know for things such as this. The only time in recent memory that the chief was vocal on anything was when he was busting the grind for the city manager. Since that time and prior to that time nothing is heard from him. Matter of fact pre-grind many people did not know who the chief of police was in salina.

Another note for those of you that were around when woody was police chief you knew of his presence in the community. He was an active police chief not an inactive one as we now have.

Yep. ole Woody knew how to handle the situation. Sad, but with our wonderful supreme court decisions of late, mixed in with do good judges that hand down less time on sentencing, although the grid allows for a more harsh sentences, times have changed since Woody's days and not for the good. The ole 5 cell across the noggin used to get someones attention. Try that nowadays and see how quick an officer can be sued. Oh, I forgot to mention the "waiting to sue someone in court" attorneys that are on the sidelines. If I were a cop I would be concerned every time I arrested someone that I may have put the handcuffs on a little too roughly or I might have by accident said something out of line to the poor abused offender. Time to get tough like in the old days. Need to start taking a "bite" out of crime!

In the case of the Police Officer being shot and the Chief not saying much... You need to understand that was turned over to the KBI and any media release would have come from them, not the SPD. I still blame parents for a majority of the problems with young people these days. I have seen too many generations in and out of our jail. If a child is brought up right, they usually turn out "right".

I hope I catch him before the police, I hate him. And it's not the teenagers commiting all these crimes, it's wannabe gangbangers that come here because they can't cut it in the big cities. Like Armani and all his other drug dealing friends.

Evidently the station got a call or something to move this story from page one to page 3. It should still be page one news since the Guy still has not been apprehended.
