"Big Red One" Soldiers Begin Training For New Mission
Associated Press - Fri 10:23 AM 11/02/2012
More Fort Riley soldiers are preparing to deploy.
According to the Army, soldiers of the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat, 1st Infantry Division, are set to conduct situational training exercises next week.
The training is in preparation for the unit’s assignment as the U.S. Army’s first Regionally Aligned Force. Regionally Aligned Forces are U.S. Army units tasked to train, mentor and collaborate with partner nation’s security forces.
Beginning in 2012, small elements of the “Dagger” Brigade are scheduled to deploy to Africa.
Preparation for the mission includes language, regional expertise and culture training.

New Jersey could use the assistance more than some mud hole in Africa. Keep our soldiers home and assist our citizens in need.
