Wichita State Beats Western Carolina

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) - Cleanthony Early scored 21 points as Wichita State beat Western Carolina 79-63 in the first round of the Cancun Challenge Thursday night.

Early was 6 of 11 from the field and had eight rebounds. Carl Hall scored 16 points and Evan Wessel added 11 for the Shockers (3-0).

Wichita State led at halftime 46-27.

Trey Sumler scored 18 points, including four 3 pointers, for the Catamounts (1-2). Tom Tankelewicz added 12 points. Brandon Boggs and Tawaski King scored 11 each. King led the team with seven rebounds.
