Crash Sends Texas Man to Hospital

A Texas man is injured in an early morning crash on I-70.
According to Sheriff Glen Kochanowski, alert truck drivers slowed down to avoid hitting a van that had come to rest on the interstate - after it hit a disabled vehicle that was parked on the shoulder.
EMS transported 38-year-old Adrian Leon-Reyes of Irving, Texas, to Salina Regional Hospital with a head injury.
Deputies say Leon-Reyes was eastbound on I-70 at about 3:30am Friday morning - when the 2000 Chevy Astro van he was driving drifted off the road and hit disabled 1988 GMC Jimmy that was parked on the shoulder at mile marker #247 near Muir Road.
Sheriff Kochanowski tells KSAL News that the GMC Jimmy was not occupied.
The Sheriff says alcohol played a role in the crash and Leon-Reyes could face possible charges.

That will never happen if the sheriffs department is involved. No comment where the rest of the people in the van ran off to before authorities could get there.
