Ell-Saline drops its openers at the Morris-Stephens Classic in Russell.

The Ell-Saline girls lost to Central Plains 59-50. Darriane Wikoff leads the team with 15 points. The Cardinals are 1-1 and play Phillipsburg on Friday.

In the boys game, Central Plains knocked off the Cardinals 47-38. Kaleb Whitehair scored 10 points. The Cardinals are 0-2 and face Ellsworth on Friday.
