Burglars Take Numerous Tools

Multiple tools are stolen from a residential project.
Salina Police were contacted by 38-year-old Maximo Guzman of Salina, after someone entered a home in the 1000 block of Noble.
Police found pry marks on an unlocked door where someone broke in between Sunday night at 8pm and Monday morning at 8am.
Numerous power tools and hand tools were taken.
Total loss and damage is listed at $2,628.

That's alot of power tools. After the insurance company pays him for them he will have a Merry Christmas.

Well, the insurance company will pay minus the deductable and minus the age of the tools. They never pay what it will cost to replace them at todays value. Nothing is ever really covered by insurance 100%, you always take less than it was worth to you. Read up on this!

I had a bunch of stuff stolen from a garage one time, various tools, fishing gear etc... We did have replacement cost on our stuff, however, we had to purchase the items before the insurance would pay us, we had to present the company with receipts to prove the value and what we were replacing. If you have ACV (Actual cash value) then the reimbursed amount is the depreciated value of the item. A $100.00 tool would bring you maybe $50.00, then you have to try to replace it. I'm told also, many insurance companies are requesting itemized lists now to back up your content insurance.
