Tuesday Basketball Preview: Mustangs, Cougars, Trojans Back in Action

Salina Central and Salina South return to the hardwood for the first time since Friday night's meeting at the Bicentennial Center.

The Mustangs will try to build off a pair of wins as they host Hutchinson. The Central girls are 3-2 and face a 1-3 Salthawk team which is coming off its first win of the year on Friday, defeating Derby. In the boys game, the 2-3 Mustangs face the 2-2 Salthawks, who lost by 45 to league power Derby on Friday. Pregame coverage is at 5:50 with tipoff at 6 on KSAL.

The Cougars are on the road in Derby. The Salina South girls hit less than 25 percent of their shots in the loss to Salina Central on Friday. Derby is 3-2 with losses to Manhattan and Hutchinson. The Salina South boys are 1-3 and face an undefeated Derby squad which has scored at least 74 points in its five games and average over 82 points per game. Pregame coverage begins at 5:50 with tip at 6 on Y 93.7.

Also tonight, Southeast of Saline hosts Ellsworth. The Trojans have been off since a week ago. The Southeast girls are 4-1 while the boys are 3-2 on the season. The Ellsworth girls are 2-4 while the boys are 1-5. Tipoff is at 6 o'clock.
