Beloit trailed only once in two wins against Sacred Heart Tuesday night.

The Lady Trojans led wire-to-wire on the way to a 47-24 win in the girls game.

Neither team scored in the first three minutes of the game. Beloit also held Sacred Heart scoreless until the final minute of the opening period.

After an early 7-0 run, Beloit led 7-2 going into the second quarter. At halftime, the Lady Knights trailed 18-8.

Beloit was most dominant in the third quarter, outscoring Sacred Heart 15-3 to take a 33-11 lead and go on for a 23-point win.

Cara Donley led the Lady Knights with ten points. Sacred Heart falls to 6-7 and 1-5 in the NCAA.

The Knights and Trojans traded baskets early in the boys game, but once Beloit regained the lead, they kept it for the remainder of the game on their way to a 44-35 win.

After leading 2-0, then trailing 3-2, a 10-0 Beloit run in the first quarter gave the Trojans a 9-point lead and 15-5 advantage after the opening period.

Beloit also scored the first four points in the second quarter to take their biggest lead of 14 points, but the Knights would respond. Sacred Heart trimmed the lead to six points at 21-15 and again at 24-18 at halftime.

The Knights were within a half-dozen once again in the third quarter, but trailed 34-24 going into the final period.

In the final quarter, the deficit was never less than seven points as Beloit went on for a nine-point win.

Tony Chavez led the Knights with 16 points. Sacred Heart is now 7-6 and 4-2 in the NCAA.

The Knights travel to Hutchinson Trinity Friday night.
