Student Caught With Gun, Bullets at School
Associated Press - Sat 02:04 PM 01/26/2013
The boy told police he was having problems with a classmate and began carrying the gun for protection.
A 14-year-old boy has been charged with bringing his grandfather's 9 mm handgun to his Kansas City charter school and showing it to classmates.
A juvenile unlawful use of a weapon charge was filed after officers arrested the boy Thursday morning.
Police said students who saw the gun went to an assistant principal. After the boy was removed from class, the assistant principal asked to search his backpack. The administrator called police when the boy moved the backpack behind him.
A police report says officers searched the backpack. Inside a pocket, they found an unloaded semiautomatic Glock 19 and a magazine loaded with 13 rounds.
The boy told police he was having problems with a classmate and began carrying the gun for protection.

The firearm followed the poor little boy to school, guns are sneaky and known to do this. At least the young man was carrying the firearm safely unloaded!

How stupid are you making light after just what happened? This is serious and if you cannot be serious crawl back in your hole.

Miss the part about "having a problem with a classmate"? Schools need to get serious about bullying, bottom line. Granted, there is NEVER a reason for a child to bring a weapon to school, but bottom line is the schools turn the other cheek when it comes to bullying. I have an idea, let's make it a crime to be a bully and ban them from our schools. Problem solved and then that will end kids feeling the need to bring weapons to school.

Good point but the schools will never get rid of bullying. If the parents or others these kids live with would lock up their guns then these kids or anyone else would not have access to bring them to school. This is where the responsibility lies.

taking a gun to school IS NOT GOING TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM....Just make it worse..The child is not going to stop being a bully ---and what is the kid with a gun going to do if this person dont stop being a bully...WHAT CAN HE DO ACTUALLY????? the bully wants action to get the other one in trouble.Actually the bully is setting him UP ..AND then LAUGH because the bully got the kid in trouble...the kid needs to takes appropriate steps to inform those above him and go way up to the top if necessary to keep himself out of trouble...USE those who will listen to get some push going and he can just stand back and watch it take place... AND just walk away when possible----I have learned that hurts them more by no response cause then they dont know what to do...they THINK THEY DIDNT GET THE BEST OF YOU CAUSE YOU DIDNT REBEL..

Kind of like on here with t-bone, redneckwatch, iamnotgonnaget u and iamgonnagetyou 3 & 4. That is all that person is doing on here is bullying people but when we go to the staff of KSAL its like talking to deaf ears so going to the top does not always work. Then when a violent action takes place fingers are pointed in every direction.
