The Sacred Heart Knights and Southeast of Saline Trojans meet for a second time this season tonight, this time at Southeast. Pregame coverage begins at 5:50 with tip-off at 6 on Classic Hits 104.9.

Girls: The Sacred Heart girls have been off for a week since a 47-24 loss at Beloit. The Knights are 6-7. Southeast of Saline finished 1-2 in the Hilltop Hoops Classic at Barton Community College, ending with a 66-59 win over Ness City on Friday. The Trojans are 7-6 on the season. The Southeast girls built a 10-2 first quarter lead, and made it stand from there in a 34-23 win over Sacred Heart in the first meeting.

Boys: The Sacred Heart boys played twice last week, falling to Beloit on Tuesday and defeating Hutchinson Trinity on Friday, 48-38. The Knights are now 8-6. Southeast has been off since finishing third in the Canton-Galva Tournament on January 18. The Trojans are 9-5. In the first meeting, Southeast took a 21-14 lead after a quarter, but Sacred Heart rallied for a 26-25 halftime lead. The Knights then pulled away with a 22-6 third quarter to go up 48-31 and cruise to the 62-46 win.

The Salina South Cougars are back on the court for the first time in 10 days, hosting Hays. Pregame coverage begins at 5:50 with tip-off at 6 on Y93.7.

Girls: The Cougars are 10-2 overall and coming off a Salina Invitational Tournament title, knocking off state-ranked teams from Clay Center, Andover and Salina Central in the process. Salina South has won six straight games. Meanwhile, Hays is 6-7 and coming off a 1-2 showing in the Mid-America Classic in McPherson. The Indians dropped games to McPherson and Valley Center, but knocked off Dodge City in the consolation semifinals.

Boys: The Cougars are coming off a third place finish in the Salina Invitational Tournament, defeating Abilene and Clay Center, but lost to Andover in the semifinals. The Cougars are 4-8, but are in the middle of a battle for a home game in sub-state. Five of the eight teams in the sub-state have four or fewer wins. Hays comes in at 9-4, which is the top record in the sub-state, but the Indians have lost three straight. Hays lost its final two games at the Orange and Black Tournament in Colby, then fell to Dodge City on Friday.

The Ell-Saline Cardinals travel to Inman to face the Teutons tonight. Tip-off is at 6 o’clock.

Girls: Ell-Saline is coming off a runner-up finish in their round-robin tournament, falling to Lyons on Friday night. The Cardinals are 9-3 on the season. Inman comes in at 5-8.

Boys: Ell-Saline hasn’t played since January 18, when they knocked off Sedgwick at the Canton-Galva tournament. The Cardinals are 5-7 on the season, while Inman is 8-5.
