A New Cambria man is bilked out of nearly $2,000 in the sale of a rifle - by a forged check.
According to Lt. Scott Siemsen, 33-year old Daniel Price contacted police after learning from his bank that a check he accepted for the sale of his Bushmaster AR 15 rifle, was stolen and forged.
Police say the check was taken from a house in Claflin, Kansas.
Price told police he listed the rifle for sale on the Nex-Tech classified site, then sold the gun on Christmas Day in the Kwik Shop parking lot on W. Schilling.
The rifle is valued at $1,900.
