South, Southeast of Saline Wrestlers Drop Duals

The Salina South wrestling team dropped its AVCTL dual to Newton, 49-17, on Thursday night.

The Railers won the AVCTL championship, going undefeated in the league.

Tyler Irwin and Josiah Endreshak gave South wins at 113 and 120 pounds, pushing South to a 10-6 lead. South would not win again until John McNabb at 152 pounds, and trailed 27-10 before his victory.

Tanner O'Donnell picked up South's final win of the night at 182 pounds.

Southeast of Saline dropped an NCAA dual to Russell.

Southeast picked up wins from Cole Leister at 113 and Jim Weller at 120 before getting forfeit wins for Zach Turner at 126 and Logan Nash at 138, giving the Trojans an 18-3 lead.

However, the Trojans would win just one more match, with Nick Wuthnow getting a victory at 182 pounds.

Southeast is at the Remington Invitational on Saturday.
