Central, South Swimmers Compete at AVCTL

The Salina Central and Salina South boys swimming teams placed sixth and seventh respectively at the AVCTL swim meet on Saturday in Newton.

Matt Martin and Ian Korinek had the top finishes for Salina Central. Martin was second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.33 seconds, and second in the 500 free at 5:10.24. Korinek was second in diving with a score of 282.85 points.

Zach Kaszycki had the top finish for the South boys, finishing third in the 100 butterly with a time of 1:05.83.

The boys swimming season concludes this weekend with the state meet.
