The Ell-Saline girls lost Tuesday’s game at Moundridge 41-40. The Cardinals led 15-12 after a quarter, but Moundridge used a 19-6 second quarter to claim a 31-21 halftime lead. Ell-Saline would try to chip away in the second half, cutting the lead to 36-29 after three. Ell-Saline would pull within one late, but Darriane Wikoff’s shot in the final seconds wouldn’t fall, and Moundridge held on for the win. Wikoff and Aubrey Wilson each scored nine points for Ell-Saline. The Cardinals are 13-4 and 6-2 in the Heart of America League. They visit Ellinwood on Friday.

The Ell-Saline boys lost Tuesday’s game at Moundridge 59-33. The Cardinals trailed 10-7 after a quarter, but Moundridge pulled away in the middle portions of the game, outscoring Ell-Saline 20-10 in the second quarter for a 30-17 lead, then pushing it to 47-26 after three. Ell-Saline picked up 13 points from Keegan Hays. Ell-Saline is 6-11 and 1-7 in the Heart of America League. They step out of league play on Friday with a trip to Ellinwood.
