Mustangs, Cougars Head to State Swimming

The state boys swimming and diving competition gets underway Thursday afternoon at the Hummer Natatorium in Topeka.
Diving starts on Thursday afternoon, while swimming semifinals start on Friday.
Both Salina Central and Salina South have entries in the meet.
For Salina Central, three swimmers will compete in the maximum of four events.
Matt Martin will compete in the 50 and 500 yard freestyle races, and will be part of the 200 and 400 freestyle relays with Decker Gates, Noah Hadnot and Erick Nilson.
Gates will also compete in four events, adding the 50 and 100 freestyle to the two relays.
Hadnot will also swim in the 100 breaststroke and in the 200 medley relay with Nilson, Bryen Baker and Chandler Bryan.
Ian Korinek will compete in the diving competition, which begins Thursday afternoon.
For Salina South, Clay Peppiatt and Zach Kaszycki will swim in four events.
Peppiatt will swim in the 200 and 500 freestyle, as well as the 200 freestyle relay with Kaszycki, Brenden Borcherding and Tucker Robidou, and the 400 freestyle with Colin Truhe, Ben Weishaar and Brodie Bowell.
Kaszycki will also swim in the 200 and 500 freestyle and the 200 medley relay with Robidou, Truhe and Richard Tuszkiewicz.
