On the final night of the regular season, Sacred Heart split a doubleheader with Ellsworth.

It took the Lady Bearcats an extra four minutes, but they went on for a 42-35 win in overtime.

Ellsworth got on the scoreboard first with two quick opening baskets. Sacred Heart cut the lead in half, but another four points by the Lady Bearcats made the score 8-2 after the opening period.

Sacred Heart hung around in the second quarter and eventually tied the game for the first time at 11-11. Ellsworth regained the lead, but a late Maddie Donatell three-point basket gave the Knights a 14-13 edge at halftime. Other than a 22-22 tie, Sacred Heart also led the entire third quarter.

In the fourth quarter, the teams began to trade baskets and the lead. In all, there were five lead changes and three tie scores in the final eight minutes of regulation. The Lady Bearcats held a 32-29 lead, but, with less than ten seconds on the clock. Cara Donley tied the game with a three-pointer to send the game to overtime.

Unfortunetly for Sacred Heart, they would trail the entire extra period. Ellsworth scored the opening four points of overtime and never looked back. The Lady Knights were within one point at 36-35, but a 6-0 Lady Bearcats run sealed the victory.

The Knights fall to 6-14 overall and finish with a 1-11 record in the NCAA league.

Donley led Sacred Heart with 12 points and Donatell added seven off the bench. Tracie Thibault scored six points, including all three Knights points in overtime.

The boys game started slowly, but the Knights eventually pulled away for a 60-42 win.

The Knights were ahead 7-2 in the first quarter, but the Bearcats came back with six straight points to take what would turn out to be their only lead of the game. The Knights came back with five straight points of their own to lead 12-8 after the opening period.

Sacred Heart led by eight points twice early in the second quarter, but another Ellsworth run cut the lead down to one point at 20-19. The Knights answered again and lead 28-21 at halftime.

Sacred Heart blew the game open in the third quarter and led 47-33. In the fourth quarter, the Knights were ahead by as many as 20 points and went on for the win.

The Knights improve to 12-8 and finish 8-4 in the NCAA league.

Tony Chavez led Sacred Heart with 14 points. Cory Donley and Brooks Brown each scored 11 points and Austin Palen had nine off the bench.
