Office workers beware. A Kansas State University researcher is adding to a growing body of research showing the health risks of spending a lot of time on your duff.

Assistant professor of human nutrition Richard Rosenkranz and other collaborators on a new study examined the associations of sitting time and chronic diseases among more than 63,000 middle-aged Australian men.

The researchers found that people who sat for more than four hours a day were significantly more likely to report having a chronic disease, such as cancer or diabetes, than those who sat less than four hours daily. And those who sat more than six hours were significantly more likely to report having diabetes.

The findings were published in the International Journal of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity.

Maybe that researcher should get their head out of their duff concerning that bio center they want built right off campus. Talk about something dangerous health wise this is what he should be looking at.
