Committee Approves Drug Testing Proposal
Associated Press - Mon 01:01 PM 02/25/2013
The requirement would apply to applicants for and participants in the Temporary Assistance to Needy Families program.
A Kansas Senate committee has endorsed a bill requiring drug tests for recipients of state certain benefits.
The action Monday sends the measure to the full Senate for debate.
The requirement would apply to applicants for and participants in the Temporary Assistance to Needy Families program. Prospective employers would be required to tell the state when a job seeker who's receiving unemployment benefits fails a company drug test or refuses to take one.
If a recipient is using drugs, the proposal would allow the state to shift benefits to a spouse to continue the aid to children, if the spouse also passes a drug test. If the spouse fails, the state would try to continue benefits for the children through a third party, such as a grandparent.

I think people on disability should have to do drug testing also at least every 3 months or so.`

I think everyone in Kansas should be tested once per month then we could weed out the druggies.

I think drug testing should be done for any state or federal program. They should be tested when they apply and every 6 mos. thereafter.

How much does it cost the state of KS to do a drug test? I'm very interested in knowing that amount.
