Ann Zimmerman has recorded three CD's - and performed her new song "Gravity" on Friday morning for the KSAL audience
Ann tells KSAL News that it was playing the guitar and singing in Boston, that kept her grounded during her time at Harvard Law School

Area favorite, Ann Zimmerman was in studio Friday and performed 3-original songs and provided the musical backdrop for the third hour of KSAL's Morning News.
Singing and writing folk songs has been a way of life for Zimmerman, singing along with her family while her mother played the autoharp. The singer/songwriter grew up in Salina taking piano lessons - but tells KSAL News that it was playing the guitar and singing in Boston, that kept her grounded during her time at Harvard Law School. "My friend and I found this place called the "Nameless Coffee House," she said. "When one of the acts booked to play that night didn't show up - my friend volunteered us." Zimmerman added, "They continued to let me play my entire time at law school, and that was one of my main ways to keep my sanity."
Zimmerman has recorded three original CD's: "Canned Goods," "Love and Weather" and her latest, "Blue Wild Indigo" all are available on line at www.annzimmerman.com
Zimmerman, who practices law in Salina, enjoys living on a horse-boarding farm with her husband. She is also very active in the community, providing songwriting workshops to students.
Multiple area musicians, groups, and bands are right now being booked to sit in the studio as the Friday morning "KSAL House Band." If you know of anyone interested you can contact Jeff Garretson by calling him at 785-823-1111 or by e-mailing him at jeff.garretson@morris.com.
