Dr. LeRoy Carhart, the head of the Abortion and Contraception Clinic of Nebraska, says he will oversee Tiller's clinic for at least the next week.

A doctor from Bellevue, Nebraska is on his way to Wichita, Kansas, to run the abortion clinic of Dr. George Tiller, who was shot and killed at his church yesterday.
Dr. LeRoy Carhart, the head of the Abortion and Contraception Clinic of Nebraska, says he will oversee Tiller's clinic for at least the next week. Carhart called Tiller's death a "declaration of war" by radical anti-abortion activists, saying they are no different from al-Qaeda, the Taliban or any other terrorists.
Tiller's clinic, known for performing late-term abortions, had been a frequent target of protests.
Carhart described himself as a close friend of Tiller's and said he was contacted by Tiller's chief nurse after the shooting.
