A New York congressman wants to take the "For Sale" sign off the Plum Island animal disease lab.
In a letter this week, Rep. Timothy Bishop argues it is ludicrous for the federal government to be spending as much as $1 billion to construct a new laboratory in Manhattan, Kan. The lab will study diseases that could devastate the country's livestock industry. Bishop says a "perfectly good" facility already exists off eastern Long Island.
The Long Island Democrat notes that the National Academy of Sciences is again studying the suitability of placing a lab in the so-called "beef belt." A report on that study is due next summer.
Kansas officials, who recently authorized $45.4 million in bonds for construction, counter that there is no reason to turn back.

I kinda have to go with the new yorkers on this one , with the federal goverment so in debt doesn't make sense to build this in kansas plus having the chance of dangerous dieseases getting loose

So what exactly is cause for removing a comment? I know I posted a comment here that was no vulgur or insulting and was on topic...but somehow poof it's gone not even the typical "comment removed" thing. That's funny..why would you remove a comment that reminds people that the federal government is controlled by a criminal cartel that is hell bent on destroying us, w/ attacks from all directions including biological and on our food and water supplies..IT'S DOCUMENTED ON THE RECORD PUBLIC INFORMATION. Is ksal a schill media outlet mouthpiece for our state and federal government that censors relevant information that may actually serve to inform the people? Which supposedly is your job...

Exactly why I don't like to argue with extreme paranoid like you...You keep on seeing that everything is wrong and that you are seeing conspiracy everywhere. Now you accused KSAL for working with government and conspiring against you and then now you realize you're wrong, is that enough for you to realize that you are just being paranoid? You need to get a clue.

Actually KSAL HAS deleted comments that did not violate the TOU in the past. However I was wrong, hence the post apologizing. You aren't exactly arguing either, you just keep posting saying, "oh you are wrong," but won't actually "argue/debate" anything. You are simply stating an opinion, I can support what I am saying and YOU CAN VERIFY IT. Big difference.

@ TheChurch, you didn't get my point. My point is that you should stop jumping to conclusion and need to look at the BOTH sides of the debate before making any careful conclusions. By reading your recent comments, I can tell that you are treating fluoride treatment, vaccine, and now this biolab as if it is black and white. This tells me that you have not researched very well and likely that you are listening to only one side while ignoring other side.
